Use of Bicycles as a means of transporting goods, people and services across Africa.

A bicycle, also called a cycle or bike, is a human-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. The bicycle's invention has had an enormous effect on society, both in terms of culture and of advancing modern industrial methods.

Bicycles allow people to travel for leisure into the country, since bicycles were three times as energy efficient as walking and three to four times as fast. The bicycle is the means to self-empowerment. For many entrepreneurs, this access to a bicycle means that they can save on transport costs and/or increase their income so that they can improve their well-being.

Experiments done in Uganda, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka on hundreds of households have shown that a bicycle can increase a poor family's income as much as 35%. Transport, if analyzed for the cost-benefit analysis for rural poverty alleviation, has given one of the best returns in this regard.

LMITATIONS

Although a low-cost low-maintenance vehicle, bicycles are notable to carry sufficient weight loads without having stability troubles because of its 2 tyres.

TFS Cycles would manufacture various low cost cargo Tricycles (low centre of gravity and stability due to the presence of 2 front tyres) which would require very little muscular energy to propel their goods and services from one point to another that would not require purchase of fuel and would have low maintenance cost for the Nigerian and subsequently the African market.
